Policy.
Synchra (“the app,” “we,” “us”) is an iOS app for noticing and reflecting on repeating numbers. It is built and maintained by Alvaro Perez (the “developer”).
This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and what control you have over it. If anything here is unclear, email us at [email protected] and we’ll walk you through it.
Who you are to us
Synchra uses anonymous authentication. You do not create an account with an email or password. On first launch, the app generates a random, anonymous ID and signs you in with it. We have no way of knowing who you are as a person — only that this specific device is the same user across sessions.
If you choose to share your first name and birthdate during onboarding, those become part of your anonymous profile on our servers. Both are optional. You can start the app with neither.
What we collect
Stored on our servers (Supabase, hosted in the United States):
- Your sightings. Every number you log, the time you logged it, the mood you picked (if any), your note (if any), your intention (if any), and any AI reflection generated for that sighting.
- Profile fields you entered. First name (optional), birthdate (optional), the numbers you said you notice, the motivations you picked during onboarding.
- Chat messages. If you use “Ask Synchra,” both your questions and the AI’s replies are stored so the conversation persists across sessions.
- Anonymous user ID. A random UUID that ties the data above together for your device. It is not linked to your name, email, phone number, or any real-world identity.
- Subscription status. If you purchase a subscription, whether the subscription is active (managed by RevenueCat — see below). We do not see or store your credit card or payment details. Apple handles payment.
Not collected:
- No email, phone number, physical address, or any contact information beyond an optional first name.
- No location data, photos, contacts, camera, microphone, calendar, or health data.
- No precise or coarse location of any kind.
- No device advertising identifiers (IDFA). No fingerprinting. No cross-app tracking.
How we use what we collect
Everything we collect is used for one of two things:
- Running the app. Your sightings and profile build the Home screen, the History tab, and the weekly pattern view. Your subscription status unlocks premium features.
- Personalizing the reflections you see. Your sightings, moods, notes, and (if provided) name and birthdate are sent to an AI model (Google Gemini) when you or the app requests a reflection, a weekly pattern summary, a journey summary, or a chat reply. The AI uses that data only to generate your response. Google does not retain this content for model training when the API is used as we use it.
We do not use your data to serve advertising, build audience segments, train our own AI, or profile you in any way beyond personalizing what you see inside the app.
Who else sees it
We use a small number of third-party services to run the app. None of them receive data for their own advertising, analytics aggregation, or resale:
| Service | Purpose | Data they receive |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase | Database, authentication, serverless functions | Everything listed in §2. Hosted in US West (Oregon). |
| Google Gemini API | AI text generation for reflections, weekly patterns, journey summaries, and chat | Sightings, moods, notes, name, and birthdate — only when a reflection is being generated. Google does not retain this data for training when called via the standard API. |
| RevenueCat | Subscription status management | Your anonymous user ID, subscription state, purchase events. |
| Superwall | Paywall display and conversion optimization | Your anonymous user ID, paywall impressions, conversion events. |
| Apple | App Store payment processing | All billing and receipt data is handled by Apple. We never see your card or payment details. |
We do not sell your data. We do not share it with advertisers, data brokers, or analytics vendors.
Where data is stored and how long
- Synchra data is stored in Supabase’s US West (Oregon) region.
- Data stays in place as long as your device’s anonymous session exists. If you use “Start Fresh” from inside the app, your device creates a new anonymous user and the old data is orphaned — still stored on our servers but no longer linked to any device you have access to. If you want that orphaned data fully removed, email us.
- Transport between your device and our servers is encrypted with TLS. At-rest encryption is handled by Supabase and Apple’s platform infrastructure.
Your rights
You can:
- See your data. Everything is visible inside the app. The History tab is a complete log of your sightings; chat messages are visible in the chat view; your profile fields are visible under Account.
- Delete individual sightings. Use the trash icon on the sighting detail screen.
- Delete your chat history. Use the trash icon on the Ask Synchra screen.
- Start Fresh. Account → Start Fresh clears this device and begins a new anonymous session.
- Request full deletion of your data from our servers. Email [email protected] with the subject “Delete my data.” We will remove all rows associated with your anonymous user ID from our database within 30 days. To let us find the right rows, please send the email from the device you want deleted (we’ll walk you through how to share your user ID) or include the approximate date you first used the app.
- Request a copy of your data. Same email, subject “Export my data.”
We respond to these requests within 30 days, in line with the GDPR and CCPA standards, regardless of where you live.
Children
Synchra is intended for ages 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided information to us, email us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy meaningfully (for example, adding a new third-party service, changing how data is stored, or introducing any form of tracking), we will update the “Last updated” date at the top and, where the change is material, highlight it on the app’s Account screen or via a notice on next launch.
